FOUNDER

My story starts in 5th grade. I was an overweight kid who wanted to play sports and stop feeling bad about myself. I started training, and the weight room became my place.

It gave me something I could control, something that rewarded the work I put in. By 8th grade I knew I wanted to own a gym someday.

I competed in powerlifting from high school into my early 30s, finishing with an 804 squat, 500 bench, and 650 deadlift. These days my competitive outlet is Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but the barbell is still where it all starts.

The Foundry opened in 2021. It is the gym I always wanted to build, a place where people can walk in with a goal and find out what they are really made of. That is what the weight room did for me, and I wanted to give that to Greenville.

CARRIE WOOLARD

Carrie brings over 10 years of lifting experience to her coaching at The Foundry. What started as her own journey with the barbell turned into a passion for helping others find the same strength and confidence she built along the way. She works with clients at every level, from beginners learning the fundamentals of strength training in the gym to experienced athletes pushing toward competition-level numbers.

Her coaching philosophy is built on consistency, confidence, and long-term progress. Carrie does not believe in quick fixes or unsustainable routines. She meets you where you are and builds a plan around your goals, your schedule, and your life. Whether you are focused on building muscle, losing weight through strength training, or just learning how to move with intention, she keeps you accountable and moving forward.

Carrie also works closely with clients on nutrition, helping them develop real, sustainable habits that support their training and carry over into everyday life. With a 275-pound squat, 135-pound barbell bench press, and a 315-pound barbell deadlift, she is not just coaching from the sidelines. She puts in the work right alongside you.

MATT

Matt knows what it takes to push past setbacks and come out stronger. After herniating disks in his back, he rebuilt his strength to hit a 640 squat, 465 barbell bench press, and a 661 barbell deadlift. He also knows the other side of the fight, having worked his way down from 290 pounds through disciplined nutrition and training.

That experience drives everything he does as a coach. Matt specializes in physique-focused strength training to build muscle, dial in nutrition, and create supplementation protocols that actually work. Whether you are looking to lose weight through strength training or finally see the results you have been chasing, he is the coach who has done it himself.

He is also a BJJ athlete who can rep 20+ pull-ups and hit a 100-pound weighted pullup. When he is not coaching or on the mats, you will probably find him gaming or enjoying a plate of sushi or chips and queso.

NUTRITION COACHING

Compassionate habits

Carrie takes a compassionate, habit-first approach to nutrition coaching. She works with clients at every level, from beginners who have never tracked a meal to athletes fine-tuning their diet for performance. Her goal is not perfection. It is consistency.

Carrie believes nutrition should be a lifestyle change, not a short-term fix. She builds personalized plans around each client's needs, schedule, and goals, whether that is losing weight, fueling strength training, or simply learning to make better choices day to day. Her coaching centers on whole foods and habits that feel sustainable for the long haul.

If you have tried rigid diets that never lasted, Carrie's approach is different. She meets you where you are and helps you build a relationship with food that actually works for your life.
